Artists Jo Tunmer and Cathy Faithfull will be in conversation about their roles as contemporary artists, the responsibilities and challenges they feel to create artwork that has integrity and depth. They will be talking to you about their collaboration ‘eARTh’ and sharing with you images of their work that has evolved through looking at the data and statistics in regard to climate change. The environmental aesthetic approach they adopt opens a dialogue with the audience and generates debate on critical issues that affect the world. Book your free place now.
Cathy’s creative journey began in 1976 with an Art Foundation Course that led to a career in photography, interior design and floristry. 37 years later she undertook a BA and MA in Fine Art graduating at the age of 60. As a newly qualified contemporary artist Cathy finds herself questioning the role and the responsibility that come with it. Working in 2D and 3D Cathy explores the world around her.

Jo, a professional commercial and contemporary visual artist, is intrigued by the anonymity and isolation that living in a city can impose. She responds by creating hand-pulled Solarplate™etchings. In comparison, her oil paintings express a romantic, utopian notion of the land. The third element of her practice consists of sculptural forms often using found materials. Trained in Textiles and Interior Design Jo also has an MA in Fine Art Printmaking.
