Clara Rackham: talk and unveiling plaque

Thursday 11th April 7:30 pm

Clara Rackham – born in 1875 – was a leading feminist and politician, active in the woman’s suffrage movement. She attended Newham College and was Vice-chair of Cambridgeshire County Council from 1956 – 1958.  She loved her bicycle and libraries.

Friends of Milton Road Library now cordially invite you to the unveiling of a plaque to name the ‘Clara Rackham’ Room at the Library and a talk about Clara Rackham by Professor Mary Joannou who has written about ’The Life and Times of Clara Rackham, Socialist, Suffragist and Social Reformer.’
